Dear readers and friends:

Three weeks ago I decided to stop this blog because I had filled my plate with too much responsibility. As usual, my eyes are bigger than my stomach, so I decided to scrape some food off my dish into the trash when no one was looking and quit my newly acquired internship in favor of: a) not going insane, and b) having more free time to write, read, think, fuck, or do any number of enjoyable activities in my free time. These reasons may sound familiar, as they are the same reasons I cited for giving up the blog. That said, I soon realized the blog is a more enjoyable and rewarding and valuable experience than learning how to market children's books which I will never write or sell or need to market.

Forgive me readers, as this has been an interesting year in my decision-making history. Since the year's start I have participated in the following acts: broken up with a boyfriend, started to drink after a lifetime of sobriety, quit my job, decided not to quit my job, slept with a stranger, slept with a friend, firmly chosen thesis topics only to abandon them within hours, obtained an internship, let go of my year-long commitment to this blog, quit my internship, and now, RESURRECTED the blog. I want to say something like, "This behavior is out of character," but judging by this list, that statement is perhaps not so. Perhaps I am simply segue-ing into my thirties, a crazy grad student, learning how to change my mind with grace.

RESURRECT is not today's word, but I chose it to properly illustrate the theme of this note.

I have missed a total of 21 blog entries, including today's real word: UNTOWARD, a good word to describe how unrealistic it would be for me to try and make up these lost entries. HOWEVER, I saved all of the emails, and I will now amuse you with the lost words, listing them chronologically and offering the definitions along one thing the word inspires within me.

Starting tomorrow, the blog will resume in an ordinary fashion.
